sedation
Drugs that help calm anxiety a patient may be feeling with regard to injury they have experienced or may feel during treatments they will experience. The lowest amount necessary is always ordered by physicians to achieve the desired calmness in their patient. Many sedated patients appear less responsive or totally unresponsive than they normally are, but being sedated allows them to feel the most comfortable they can for treatment.
