physical or occupational therapist
The physical therapist is an allied health professional who works to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities in a patient. The occupational therapist, on the other hand, is trained to make a complete evaluation of the impact of a disease on the activities of a critically ill patient at home, in work situations, and during recreational activities. Both therapists work cooperatively with other disciplines of their health care team, which can be a critical care team, to reduce physical and psychological disability of the patient.
