blood pressure
A force that pushes against an artery's walls as the artery moves through flowing blood or passes by the beating heart. Having prolonged high blood pressure is dangerous because it stiffens arteries, making them susceptible to fat accumulation and possibly causing a person to experience heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.
